Privacy
The Cocktail Edit is an event bartending business based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This page explains what we collect when you use this website or book with us, why we collect it and how to ask us to change or delete it. Last updated 22 October 2026.
What we collect
When you ask for a quote, we collect your name, email address, event date, event type and guest count. You can also give us your phone number, venue, the package you are interested in and a message.
So we know how people find us, we also note which page you sent the form from, any campaign tags in the link you followed and the site that referred you. We do not store your IP address. To protect the form from spam, we keep a scrambled version of it for one purpose only, to limit how many requests can come from one connection in an hour.
If you book with us, we also keep what we need to run your event: your quote, your signed service agreement, payments received and the details of your event.
Why we collect it
We use your details to reply to your request, prepare your quote, plan and staff your event and keep the records a business must keep. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for anything you have not asked for. If we ever want to send you news or offers, we will ask first.
Who helps us
We use a few trusted services to run the site and our bookings. Each one only gets what it needs.
- Cloudflare hosts this website, stores quote requests and booking records and checks that the form is filled in by a person (Turnstile).
- Resend sends the emails about your request and booking.
- Stripe processes card payments when you pay online. We never see or store your full card number.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits to the site without cookies and without identifying you.
Some of these services store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
Cookies
This site does not set tracking cookies. It keeps campaign tags in your browser for the length of your visit so they can be sent with your quote request, then they are gone.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and booking records only as long as we need them to work with you and to meet our tax and accounting obligations. Canadian tax rules require us to keep business records for six years. After that we delete them.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. We will answer within 30 days. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it, and we will tell you if that applies.
