What bar service in Ottawa actually involves

Ottawa events are mostly rented rooms, community halls and back gardens rather than venues with a bar already built. That changes the job: we bring the bar, we plan around the water and the power, and we work out the load in before the day.

A rented hall or an outdoor site will usually need a Special Occasion Permit. A private home generally will not. We will tell you which one you are looking at when you send the address.

Venues we have worked in Ottawa

  • Horticulture Building, Lansdowne Park
  • Glebe Community Centre
  • Private homes across the city

We set up every bar to suit the event, its theme and its decor.

Questions

Asked by Ottawa hosts

Do you charge travel inside Ottawa?

There is no travel fee within 25 km of central Ottawa. We’re happy to travel up to about an hour from Ottawa in any direction. Farther than that is available as an add-on.

Can you work a backyard party in the city?

Yes. We need a level surface, access to power if the night runs late, and a plan for ice.

Do Ottawa venues need a certificate of insurance?

Many do, and they usually want it a week or two out. Send us the venue contact and we will deal with it directly.

How late can the bar run?

Most bookings are a five hour window. Extended service time is available, subject to the venue and the neighbours.
